{"id":465,"count":777,"description":"Find posts about classical, Christian education.\r\n\r\nClassical, Christian education is a time-tested approach to learning rooted in a faith in Christ. The classical model is structured around the way that children naturally learn\u2014first through imitation and memorization, and later through discussion and expression. Students progress through the trivium: grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric. During the grammar stage of development, children accumulate basic facts about the world. This calls for memorization and memory work. During the dialectic stage, children begin to synthesize these facts and form opinions. The classical model helps these students think logically and systematically. During the rhetoric stage, students begin to express themselves. This is fostered through the study of oral and communication techniques, and through practical experience in debate and discussion. The end result is an education that nourishes the mind, body, and spirit.\r\n\r\nThis model is also about character formation. The purpose of education is to know God and make Him known, and it is through wrestling with truth that we grow in virtue and bless our community. Accordingly, students will engage the great traditions of civilization from a Christ-centered worldview and grow in wisdom.\r\n\r\nIf you're interested in learning more about classical curricula and methods, the philosophies and methods of other educational styles, and how to educate your students at home using the classical model, then you'll want to spend some time in this category!","link":"https:\/\/classicalconversations.com\/blog\/category\/classical-christian-education\/","name":"Classical Christian Education","slug":"classical-christian-education","taxonomy":"category","parent":0,"meta":[],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Classical Christian Education Archives - Classical Conversations<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Explore classical, Christian education, the age-old model of teaching the good, the true, and the beautiful to cultivate wisdom and virtue.
